Shaped by a youth of fringe dwelling in the surf, skate and punk music scenes, Ryan Nix has spent the past decade developing a curious sense of observation and subversive artistic style.
His multifaceted creative approach includes photography, fashion design and art direction and has seen him working on projects with brands including House of Holland, Stussy, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Jonathan Saunders.
Since picking up a camera in his early teens, Ryan's DIY spirit has remained a prominent feature in a body of photographs spanning fashion, documentary and portraiture.
From deserted Californian landscapes through to concrete jungle campaign shoots with brands like ksubi, his unique visual language explores various subcultures and is inspired by the raw beauty of everyday life.
Although now based in Sydney, Ryan's naturally emotive storytelling remains strongly influenced by his hometown of Newcastle, Australia.
