Eyewear Design, Brand Strategy
After spending seven years building a reputation as a purveyor of classic and timeless eyewear, Bailey Nelson was ready to flex its creative muscle and introduce a collection of more experimental frames.
Various concepts were explored and studied, and a brief was set to “push the materiality of acetate to its limit”. Frames were made one third thicker than industry standard and radical architectural bevelling was added to each shape. When seen on face the frames appeared classic in appearance, but when viewed either under lights or from different angles, the three dimensional effect came to life. The outcome was a series of sunglasses that felt equal parts familiar and fresh.
The collection was brought to life by photographer/director Yasmin Suteja, founder of the creative and production studio Culture Machine.
